課程要求 |
This course is designed as an interactive workshop. All students are expected to participate ACTIVELY in the learning process. Class time will be divided into several segments for different activities: lectures, group exercise (including grammar practice, sentence writing, editing, reviewing and reading discussion, etc.) and in-class writing. We will start from sentence practice and introduce basic concepts of English writing. Short stories will be used as teaching materials. Students are expected to preview the materials before each class. In addition to regular writing assignments, students will have to keep journal writing at least once a week. We will write SIX paragraphs in total in this semester. Finally, students are required to make a short group oral presentation on _the Elements of Style_.
